Beyond the door
there’s peace I’m sure.
And I know there’ll be no more…
Tears in heaven

Grief changes everyone. No matter how “strong” you may think you are, when someone you love dies, your world is never the same. It is easy to spiral into depression and close one’s self off from the world. Or, it is also an opportunity to grow.

When you look at your life you may see that some of your most amazing spurts of growth came as a result of conflict, pain, and sadness. Losing a loved one is a cataclysmic event which can create a pain that must be focused. Often that focus leads to creativity.

Some of the greatest works of art, literature and music arose as the result of pain. Eric Clapton wrote the touching song Tears in Heaven, in response to his young son’s tragic passing. As anyone who has lost a loved one knows, it is the most painful ordeal anyone can endure.

However, physical death is not the end of existence. Physical death is transference of our life force and consciousness from the Material World to The Other Side, which many of us refer to as Heaven.

As a psychic medium, I facilitate connections between people here in the Material World and the spirits of their loved ones on The Other Side. Some of the most frequent questions I’m asked is whether a loved one is alone on the Other Side, and whether that person’s spirit is afraid. In other words, “Are there tears in Heaven?”

After communicating with thousands of spirits, it is my belief no one is alone on The Other Side. When a spirit leaves the physical body and ascends, he or she crosses into the “Light.” The Light is the spiritual energy of God. Upon entering this beautiful Light, the spirit is then greeted by spirits of family members and friends. These loved ones are connected by love to each other in Heaven, and they remain connected to us from Heaven by love. No one in Heaven is ever alone or afraid.

That is why there are no tears in Heaven.

“There are no tears in Heaven” and “No one in Heaven is ever alone or afraid”. These two thoughts bring me so much peace. Thank you Mark. I read your book Never Letting Go and I will read it again.

What about a teenager that passes away at 15 and did not know or have any family members or friends that passed away in her lifetime? Her grandparents passed well before she was even born. Who would she be with? If heaven or any aftelife even exist I worry that she has no friends or people her age to even hang around with. I believed in heaven until 9 months ago when she passed. Now I think maybe it is just our imagination trying to offer false hope of an eternity when this is really it & if you lose your child it is just going to be awful forever and they are gone forever . I get signs and have had 3 very real dreams about her but I think it is just my imagination not wanting her to be gone. And the “signs” are just random occurances that trigger memories or reminders of her. I have seen several “orbs” and one figure that was an “angel” and one figure holding flowers. Again I think I am hallucianting with grief. I guess.

    In the process of reading
“Never Letting Go: Heal Grief with Help from the Other Side”, and find it very inspiring! Especially like the parts where you explain your dealing with grief. I imagine it helps to be able to communicate with those on the other side unlike some of us who aren’t able to but will take your word for it. No I’m not jealous, but glad there are good people like yourself around to help us understand afterlife better.

  6. Mary Z. says:

But, don’t they miss the ones they left behind?

    • Mark Anthony says:

Good question Mary. They are with us whenever they want to be, so it is us who miss them. They can always perceive us. We’re the ones who have trouble perceiving them. Plus, because the Other Side is timeless what we consider to be years, for them is only moments. They don’t grieve us since in their reckoning we’ll be along momentarily.

  7. Janelle C says:

Mark, you have a great point with what you said. I do believe once your spirit leaves you, you will be in the presence of God. To say that every one will go to heaven, I believe, would be sending false hope, Idk Maybe I am missing something, and I would be open to hearing your opinion on how you receive the gift of heaven. Is it through your faith, your works or are we all going to end up in heaven? I am in no way criticizing what you wrote, I genuinely would like to here your belief as to why everyone receives heaven?
    Thanks! Janelle

Great question. My next book will explain this in great detail. Suffice it to say, we are all of God’s children and God will not condemn anyone to an eternal suffering. However, there are repercussions for our actions so no one gets a free pass for doing harmful things to others. Eventually though, we all will ascend to the Heaven dimension.

  8. Nathalie Carden says:

    Hi Mark,

I do believe that we all eventually ascend but some people also get stuck between the realms either because that is their wish as they can not let go of earthly things, or because maybe they are not worthy and can only go to lower realms, such as murderers maybe. As we are the ones who are the final judges of our actions here on earth, is that the reason why some of us decide to come back and make better what we did not do right in the previous lives we had here?
I have read your book so I don’t know what your opinion is. But I intend to do so.

    Thank you.

  9. Patricia Rapley says:

With so many friends and family to greet and welcome them on the other side, do they still have time for us who were left behind and still grieve over their departure?

    • Mark Anthony says:

That is an excellent question. In my upcoming book “Evidence of Eternity: Communicating with Spirits for Proof of the Afterlife” I explain how it is difficult for us to understand the Other Side. We have material world limitations and move very slowly in the energetic sense. As they are pure energy they are not anchored to a body and move at least at light speed. So they can do things at an accelerated rate that we can’t even comprehend. This means they can interact with those on the Other Side and still visit us in the flash of an eye.
